Understanding Abusive Relationships

Mason is with his sister, Ivie Harrell, who is a cast member in the video ‘Abusive Relationship.’  Her husband, Ridge Harrell, is also a cast member and portrays Ivie’s husband.

A common ending for performances by the traveling MWAH! Performing Arts Troupe was commentary by teenage troupe members Taylor Oechsel and Landon Ballard about relationships – with the instrumental track for the song ‘A Thousand Years’ by Christina Perri playing softly in the background.

Taylor and Landon noted that relationships can be complicated, scary, messy, and even dangerous or life-threatening.

They emphasized that those who have these kinds of difficult and varied relationships need to grab hold of their emotions and try to deal with them in ways that make sense – that one should never be afraid to seek help – because seeking help is a strength, not a weakness.

That – they told their high school and middle school audiences – is how to be brave.

Today…tomorrow…for a thousand years.

Two other alumni of the traveling MWAH! Troupe – Mason Ridenour and Rob Delgado – during the spring of 2023 have produced a video about one type of abusive relationship.

This video (link below) was produced in Lehi, Utah – near Salt Lake City – where Mason has been residing.  Rob resides in Yorkville, Illinois, a far western suburb of Chicago.

Mason was the video director and Rob the director of cinematography.

The cast consists of Mason’s sister, Ivie Harrell, and her husband, Ridge Harrell.

Mason and Rob became members of the MWAH! troupe in 2010, when both were eighth grade students at Yorkville Middle School.
