Finding our Own Value

In Episode #28 of his Humans Anonymous podcast series, Landon Ballard discusses how personal struggles, such as dealing with depression and alcoholism, don’t define one’s achievements in life.

An example he mentions is actress Drew Barrymore, whose career took off with the movie ‘E.T.’ when she was about 7 – the same age when her addiction also began.  Now 49 and despite numerous personal setbacks, Drew has continued as a successful film star and producer as well as a talk show host.

Landon, who has faced his own struggles, reminds viewers who may have their own personal struggles but that they need to remember where they’ve been and what they’ve accomplished so far in their own lives.

He notes that an alcoholic, like Drew Barrymore, or himself, will always be an alcoholic, but that how such a condition is dealt with is what’s important.

He notes that sometimes it’s hard, but that it’s important to try to love yourself and to always strive to make a positive impact on those around you.

Landon stresses the importance of being kind.

In reference to himself as well as his viewers, Landon reiterates that ‘you are good enough’ and ‘you are loved.’
