Explosonic Rockers Alumni Andre Locke and Marc Smith Compose Music Video

Andre Locke and Marc Smith, two alumni of the Explosonic Rockers Street Jazz Theatrical Troupe, just produced a music video entitled “We’re Not Going Back.”  The Explosonic Rockers, which focused on issues-oriented, youth-focused break-dancing routines, preceded the MWAH! Performing Arts Troupe.

Andre Locke, who performs under the name Buddy Mclain, worked with Minnesota Governor Tim Walz on police reform—including a ban on no-knock warrants in Minnesota—following the death of his son, Amir, in a botched no-knock raid in Minneapolis in 2022.   Locke worked on the music video with fellow Explosonic Rockers alumnus Marc Smith and his wife, Sylvia.

Marc lived in Maywood, Illinois when he was an Explosonic Rocker, then spent time in London as a music producer, then later lived in Riverside, California.  He now lives in Arizona.

Andre Locke attended the State of the Union address in 2023 as a guest of a member of Congress, as described in an earlier post.

Andre was interviewed about the loss of his son, his work with the Explosonic Rockers, and many other topics in February 2024 by MWAH!’s Landon Ballard, who runs the Humans Anonymous podcast, and Aaron West, who serves as MWAH!’s Webmaster.  The episode, which focuses on overcoming tragedy and setbacks in life, is online HERE.

The “We’re Not Going Back” video is available on YouTube, which is part of Marc Smith’s YouTube Channel.

Note: The MWAH! Performing Arts Troupe, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, does not endorse any candidate or party for political office.
