Yul’s Olympic Dream

Yul Moldauer, now 25, appreciates both the gift of adoption and the value of hard work.

Born in Seoul, South Korea, he was adopted by a Colorado farm family by the time he was one year old.

At age seven he joined a local gym near Littleton, Colorado, which offered a free tryout in gymnastics, and he began a competitive journey with the goal of becoming the best he could be, and he started by winning state and regional meets.

With continued hard work and his always supportive adoptive family, at the age of 18 he won the gold metal in his age division at the Junior Olympic National Championships.

When he was 20, he won his first NCAA all-round title.

This year (2021) Yul Moldauer is representing the USA at the Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.

Besides striving to become his personal best, Yul shows in this video his gymnastics finesse and his grateful feelings about both his Colorado adoptive family and his USA Olympics team family.

We thank Steve Patterson of NBC News in Denver for this excellent video.
