A Passion to Serve Others

Simon Rodriguez Jr., an alumnus of the MWAH! Performing Arts Troupe and currently Youth Services Manager for the City of Aurora, Illinois, has been chosen as the featured alumnus for September 2021 for Waubonsee Community College. Simon, the first in his family to graduate from college, is an Army National Guard veteran, graduated with honors from Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois, and received a prestigious national Fulbright scholarship, which allowed him to live and study in Mexico and England. For four years he taught bilingual social studies at his high school alma mater, East Aurora High School.
